Tali likes the cool color palate, and that's what I used to create a tree-of-life motif inside her chamsa.

This was the first of my ongoing Tree of Life series. Hand-beaded and framed with words I find comforting, this was purchased at Cancer Coalition fund-raising auction.

Comfort ($450)

Pieced with cool teals and purples, this Tree of Life has Comfort , Soothe and Console printed on the leaves. Each leaf is rimmed with hand-beaded purple glass beads. 25 x 28.5

Passion ($450)

Pieced with bright oranges, this Tree of Life has Passion, Fire and Desire printed on the leaves. Each leaf is rimmed with hand-beaded green glass beads. 25 x 28.5

Joy ($375)

This Tree of Life, created in warm browns and earthy greens, has Joy, Love and Bliss written on its leaves. The knotty tree trunk is hand-beaded on the diagonal in gold glass beads, to further accent the twisty movement of the tree. 21 x 27.5

Courage ($375)

This Tree of Life, created in warm browns and earthy greens, has Courage, Strength and Hope written on its leaves. Each leaf has its center vein hand-beaded in gold, to add yet more warmth to the color palate. 20.5 x 28

Karen's Tree (Private Collection)

Karen asked me to create a tree of life quilt to celebrate her parents' 50th anniversary. The words are from Psalm 13.12, and the tree is in my favorite style of layered cottons.

Each leaf here has a quote about planting trees. The tree trunk has over 75 raw-edged pieces, sewn over a felt background which peeks through here and there. The leaves can be turned over to reveal the quote on the underside. 48 x 18

The World is Mud-Luscious ($600)

On each of the three leaves here, I printed a playful quote about nature and color. The tree trunk has over 75 raw-edged pieces, all from brightly-colored, fun fabrics. The leaves can be turned over to reveal the quote on the underside. 48 x 18
