From the Israel series, quilted and beaded. 22.75 x 30.25
Yaffo Steps ($775) Part of the Israel Fantasy series, this quilt is based on a photo I took in Yaffo. The stone steps, stone walls, wild trees and play of light captured my imagination ...and this is the result! 24 x 33
View Towards Hula Valley ($550) Part of the Israel Fantasy series, this quilt is loosely based on photographs taken during a hike in Northern Israel. 25 x 25
T'filla ($275) I have been working on quilting rocks and stones for a while, all to be able to capture some feeling of Jerusalem's Wailing Wall. This is my first in what I hope will be several quilts depicting private moments at this breathtaking spot. ( 21 x 15)
Yaffo Arches ($565) The narrow alleys of Yaffo, Israel (Jaffa) are crowned with ancient arches and paved with well-worn stones. In this quilt, each stone is individually cut and pieced on top of an underlying fabric. 22 x 29.5
Maine Grove ($450)
Light and shadow play in this interpretation of a favored Maine spot. 24.5 x 21
Yaffo Port ($400) I love the ancient port city of Yaffo (Jaffa) in Israel. The water lapping against the old stones just needed to be quilted! 21 x 22
Yaffo Boats ($725) This large quilt was pretty challenging technically, especially the squiggly reflection lines. When viewed from a distance, the piece has a very painterly effect. 35 x 23.75
Vermont Landscape - Red Barn ($50) Created after a family summer trip to Vermont. 8.5 x 6.5
Vermont Landscape - Hills and Fields ($50) Created after a family summer trip to Vermont. 8.5 x 6.5
Vermont Fields ($30) Created after a family summer trip to Vermont. 5 x 7
Ocean Mood ($50) Spending a week on the beach in Cancun Mexico, I saw the ocean's many moods... 8.5 x 6.5
Beach Day (Private Collection) From the series Child's Eye View of Color and Collage.
The Perfect Rock ($225) A bit of a fabric collage, the quilt combines fabric with a little paint. 16 x 16
Cracked Boulder ($125) So many of my nature quilts have trees and water...I wanted to learn how to add rocks without becoming mired in hundreds of tiny fabric pieces. 14 x 11.25
Cape Grass ($300) Continuing my exploration of light and shadows, I found this picture on the internet and reinterpreted it in fabric.
20 x 17
Sarastro's Castle (Private Collection) From the Magic Flute trilogy, this large quilt showcases Sarastro's home, featuring hand-beaded stripes in Sarastro's sky.
Solitude ($500) After creating SurfSound for the Yawkey Family Inn, I felt compelled to make another, larger quilt with a red Adirondack chair at the ocean's edge. Small areas of the quilt have overlays of organza to create patches of shimmering sand. 27 x 23.5
Seaside (Private Collection) I worked with some new techniques on this quilt, including singeing the edges of organza for the rock edges, and heating up cellophane to create froth.
